Orlampaland is more than a place. Orlampaland is a vision of Florida as a living story. Rooted in the I-4 corridor between Tampa, Lakeland, and Orlando, Orlampaland stretches outward to the coasts and back through time, weaving together culture, community, and imagination. It’s where local history meets future possibility, where creativity and commerce walk side by side, and where everyday lives can be seen as part of a larger, shared landscape.

At the heart of Orlampaland is the idea that we can make believe better.

Make Believe Better is a call to imagine the world differently; not to escape reality, but to reshape it. Through stories, art, videos, and shared experiences, Make Believe Better is about seeing possibility where others see limits, about turning mistakes into momentum, and about finding meaning in the ordinary.

Together, we are Orlampaland and we can Make Believe Better.

All leaders are human. Whatever flaws John F. Kennedy had, the idea of setting a goal to land on the moon was constructive, big stuff. It mobilized the country. In a 09/09/2008 Charlie Rose show, Thomas L. Friedman said:

[There has been] “…no animating vision that taps the greatness of our country. It’s just one more metal detector…”

Florida has vast potential. Vector math! Thanks for pushing in a good direction.

  Beautifully said and exactly the kind of thinking we need more of. The moonshot wasn’t just about rockets; it was about direction. It gave people something to build toward. Florida’s got that same kind of energy waiting to be unlocked; sunlight, coastline, creativity, and courage.
  
  If we can find a new shared purpose; one that blends invention, compassion, and community, we might just tap that “animating vision” again. Thanks for the thoughtful comment and for recognizing that we can aim higher together.
